CPU frequency scaling

1 - download the lastest cpufreq drivers at ftp://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/cpufreq/
2 - patch the kernel
3 - compile the kernel with the following options : cpu frequency scaling, cpu frequency table helpers, Intel Pentium M Enhanced Speedstep
4 - startup with this fresh kernel and load the speedstep-centrino module
5 - install the cpufreq daemon with this command : emerge cpufreqd
6 - modify /etc/cpufreqd.conf according to your needs
1 - be sure that the kernel has been compiling with the following options : cpu frequency scaling, cpu frequency table helpers, Intel Enhanced Speedstep
2 - startup with your fresh kernel and load the speedstep-centrino module
3 - install the speedfreq daemon with this command : emerge speedfreq
4 - modify /etc/conf.d/speedfreq according to your needs
